The National Cemetery Administration (NCA) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) operate Georgia National Cemetery. The Georgia National Cemetery Advisory Council (GNCAC) holds an advisory position and is a supportive entity for the cemetery. We encourage visitors to utilize the following resources from the NCA and VA:

Covid Alert

The NCA has implemented a robust set of measures that allows cemeteries to conduct committal and memorial services while protecting the health and safety of attendees. We continue to adhere to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines to prevent the spread of Covid.

Burial Eligibility

The NCA Scheduling Office has the primary responsibility for verifying eligibility for burial in VA cemeteries. We encourage veterans and families to contact Georgia National Cemetery's staff for full details after reviewing the following information:

Burial Schedule

The VA and NCA's Daily Burial Schedule allows the public to search for the committal service date, time, and cemetery for the scheduled burial of a veteran, spouse, or other eligible family member. Information is available for all VA national cemeteries, here:

Crisis Care

The Veterans Crisis Line (VCL) is a free, confidential resource that’s available to anyone, even if you’re not registered or enrolled in VA health care. The team is specially trained for all circumstances. If you’re a veteran in crisis or concerned about one, there is help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Floral Policy

The NCA and VA set the policies regarding floral arrangements and grounds presentation. Fresh cut flowers may be placed on graves at any time of the year. For comprehensive details about their grounds policies, click here:

The NCA provides an online grave locator to help families find loved ones in cemeteries managed by the VA. This tool is free to use but may be limited. Contact the NCA if you can't find what you're looking for from this resource. To search their database, utilize this link:
