We launched our inaugural edition of the GNCAC newsletter. Some of our goals are to disseminate council newsworthy items, articles of historical importance and/or current interest, biographies of current or past council members and of course keeping council members up to date on events and situations concerning the cemetery or the council itself. We anticipate a semi-monthly publishing as of now.
If you see an interesting article or have an interest in a subject that your fellow council members would appreciate reading about, please submit a draft and we will route it through our censor, Manny Enriquez (aka "The Cuban"). Seriously, this is your newsletter and participation is encouraged. Most urgently, we need your help in selecting a title for this newsletter. Some of the suggestions so far: The Bell Tone, The Bell Toll, Tower Dispatch, Tower Broadcast, The Veterans Clarion, Council Advisor, Hail & Farewell, and Patriot Tribune.
We also need a title for George Westbrook's honorary publication of the 23 KIAs interred or memorialized here at GNC. You will notice a recipe in this issue. This is a great salad, but I am sure there are some culinary masters in this crowd. Let's hear from you men! Now is your chance to shine. Women, don't let the men leave you in the “desert”. We will publish at least one recipe each edition and take a vote at the end of the year for best recipe (your chance to win a fresh balsam wreath embellished with a beautiful red ribbon bow). Another win-win is our biographies. Write a bio of one of your brother or sister council members and we will select one for each edition. What a great way to brag on a friend and while doing so,
enrich the knowledge of our collective membership on our individual brothers and sisters. We will publish one biography each issue. Please submit all articles, recipes, biographies and titles to Chairman, Russ Seltenright via email.
